Rejoice for 19 December - Here comes our 4th vintage beer
Saturday 19th December at 10 to 13 suggests Braunstein doors wide open and offers køgenserne within the open house. The occasion is the company's fourth birthday, which is celebrated in style. Guests can savor the brand new Braunstein Heritage 2009, which is a special beer - a collector's item - which will premiere on the day. And there are of course also julebryg on the program.
-We have had a tremendous year and we pay most attention to is that we are well with Køge and køgenserne says Michael Braunstein. "We are truly grateful for all the positive support we receive from Køge citizens. Therefore, it is also a great privilege for us to give back a little when we have chance.
This year brewed Braunstein back a beer to Køge Festivaluge and was torn away. Even the most critical taste buds among the national newspapers beer writers took my hat off to Køge festival beer. It was the finishing touch to Braunstein that all optional gymnasts did a great effort and got a surplus of beer.
2009 was a cider-year
At birthday Braunstein can look back on an exciting and hectic year. Not least, the brewery had success with innovation to deliver cider from Næsgård as brothers guesthouse at Allinge on Bornholm. In the Bornholm idyll, it is natural to want to brew cider, when you are sitting right under an apple tree. But it was perhaps a little more surprising that the Danes threw herself over ciders in the style and degree, as was the case. Braunstein manufactures Næsgård Cider as cafes and Coop decreases in the very large scale to satisfy the thirsty Danes.
Braunstein was the first Danish microbrewery, which was also mikrodestilleri. When you can brew beer, then you have already 60-70 percent of the facilities needed to produce stronger products. Braunstein in Køge manufactures eg. the first Danish whiskey since the 50s. Moreover spirits and kryddersnapse.
New chapter in the history of Danish Whiskey
Whiskey from Køge has attracted attention over the years. Braunstein Edition no. 1 provides the first whiskey from Denmark for many decades. The storage of whiskey made in sherry-cask that Braunstein has picked up in Spain. And Braunstein's ambassadorial corps grows by the day, they are allowed to follow the new Danish whiskey in the ripening process. Three years on drums is the minimum if it is to be whiskey, as Danes and Køge presses have to wait until 22 March 2010 until the whiskey is finished and ready to drink the substance.
Still micro -
-Of course there are limits to how many micro-brewed beer, the Danes can slurp in itself. Therefore, it is as microbrewery quite natural to look around for development opportunities where we can maintain our micro-values and retain the small scale. We will not start with a large quantitative growth, so the project will no longer make sense and personal fulfillment, "says owner Michael Braunstein.
Brothers Michael and Claus Braunstein insists the thick line under the micro - both as a brewery and distillery.
